![]() 2.5.06 1.29.06 Five year anniversary of the Men's Club Website! Site redesign to commemorate this enormous moment in society and history. Most of the changes are design-related, but there also some additions/changes to the intro, form, jukebox, outtakes, mark, and links pages. 9.25.05 Added more pictures to the outtakes page. Jukebox updated. All movies on the links page are now streaming. Went ahead and added three new ones too. Also updated TheStarkNet's main page. 9.08.05 I've actually been making changes throughout, but I've gotten horrible about updating this page... The main new addition, as many of you already know, is the local music archive, showcasing some of the finest in P.G. County's musical history. Also have been working hard to get everything to show up in Netscape/Firefox the same way it does in Internet Explorer. This is not nearly as easy as it sounds, but I think I've gotten most of it. Also just trying to fine-tune everything, because (parts of) this bad boy will be going on the old resume. Stay tuned to the projects page; hopefully that one will be changing a lot soon. Oh yeah, one smaller thing... I made it so you only need 10 points to win the ping-pong game (instead of 15). People play it, but no one ever wins, and you're all missing out on the SPECTACULAR victory screen. It's truly something to behold. Definitely something. Just got back from a most righteous trek around Europe, so I might post some pictures soon... Some of them are up on Myspace, because GUESS WHAT? I got Myspace fever. 2.23.05 Also, jukebox music streams now, except for the WMA files. Makes it quicker for the listener, and it also puts me at less risk because you can't download streams. I constantly update this page. 1.19.05 I know it's crazy, but the jukebox page has actual music on it now! Well, at least until I get in trouble... 1.18.05 Judging from the counter, more people than ever are looking at the site... Pretty cool. Sign the guestbook while you're here, why don't ya. Don't be shy. I will seriously get cised, I promise. Now, wait, what's that noise? The Top 5 Records of 2004?
Kind of a weak year, I know, when you have two reissues. There were other decent CDs, but many were overall disappointments (i.e. Beastie Boys, Jimmy Eat World) and not worthy of the year-end top five. However, the Green Day record is not only #1 for the year, but it also instantly entered my top 10 of all time. 9.9.04 The Word of the Day has made it to the main
page. Email your ideas for inclusion.
Also, just now: 9.7.04 Not that I'm behind or anything, but here are the Top 5 Records of 2003. It's ok, you can exhale now.
9.1.04 Mainly just tweaking and tying up loose ends. The site was getting a little trifling from lack of attention, but now it's gotten some TLC. I think the most obvious additions are over on outtakes. 1.24.04 The big 9.12.03 The intro page now randomly plays several different versions, including a couple new ones. Who knew. 8.27.03 Man, was that guestbook a mess. Even included a couple postings from porn sites, if anyone caught that. That was a nice touch. I've cleaned it up and think I have finally cleared all the bugs out of it. Sadly enough, I wasn't able to get the archive back from Geocities after they deleted my account, so I would get cised if you went and signed it, even if you signed the old one. 2.12.03 Funny story: Brendan comes up to me and goes, "I think my computer's got a virus." I take a look at it, and I realized he'd walked away from his computer, logged onto my site. Had to laugh. To see what I mean, be logged onto my site any day at 12:34, AM or PM. This is something goofy I added a long time ago. 2.10.03 Now that I'm finally making updates, it's time to get to the important stuff. The Top 5 records of 2002:
2.10.03 I can't believe it's been five months. Good Lord. Well, the ah, guestbook finally works now (it didn't really -Ed.). Apparently, "soon" = "5 months from now". Go check it out over here. In the process of figuring out how to get the guestbook archive back, now that GeoCities has deleted my account unceremoniously. And this one is huge: new AIM Men's Club Buddy Icons! You didn't misread that. Click here and spread the Word of the Men's Club to your friends and family... Also... a note: the message board is no more. Because of the constant posting and traffic, it was overloading the server. No, that's actually not it, they just started charging a monthly rate, and it didn't seem worth it with the one-post-every-three-months-or-so action that'd been happening. 9.26.02 It has been awhile. Well, we're slowly getting back in business. New intro page... new links...new changes throughout the site to enhance your Men's Club Experience... Also, a new guestbook will be up and running soon since the GeoCities one is almost full; this one also won't have a limit on how much you can type into the fields before it cuts you off. Finally, take a moment to check out this fleeting vision, which lasted three days: me ahead of Bill in a fantasy league. (Bill's Nutsy T; I'm JITT.) This was about a week or so before the end of the baseball season; Bill ended up beating me. Click on the image to see the full-size: 2.09.02 My top 50 records of all-time are finally here, by popular demand. New photos and sounds on various pages throughout the site. 1.29.02 Men's Club turns 1 today! Birthday funtimes over at the intro page. 1.22.02 This is it... the big moment... my Top 5 CD's for 2001:
Post your top 5's of this (or anything else if you want) over at the message board (since taken down)... 1.20.02 New form addition. 1.19.02 More pictures, design changes, tweakedy tweakedy. 1.16.02 Some new pikchas, subtle design changes. This stuff's actually been done for awhile; I'm just getting around to mentioning it here. 12.19.01 New logo for the main page. Original picture is here)... This is by far the best picture to come out of my recent trip to Vegas for Steve's wedding. Unlike Mardi Gras, it wasn't that the photos didn't turn out, it's just that I usually pulled the camera out when I'd had a few and inexplicably took photos like this. (You gotta admit, though, that is class... it better be when I'm paying $6 for a Bud Light bottle.) A new outtake. What else... as I scan the navigation bar... oh, new link. New pictures coming soon. 12.03.01 Added new people to the ping-pong game, a couple new pictures for existing ones. R.I.P. George Harrison. 10.12.01 Random aside: Nothing matches the feeling of stepping outside and hearing Northwestern HS's marching band rehearsing "Bootylicious".
10.10.01 The moment we've all been waiting for: 10.8.01 Added music to some pages. Some more graphics added throughout site. More fixes. 10.1.01 Logo/design changes, small touches throughout. 8.23.01 New pictures! 8.21.01 Organized the links and added a new one. 8.16.01 Even more links, new translation capability (go to TheStarkNet's home base - does not work for the main page (only) of this site, or for "Three Strikes Sportswear"). (Since removed.) 8.12.01 New links, new outtakes. New section (sort of): Leave Your Mark. 7.21.01 New photos and additions in the ping-pong game. 7.14.01 Tweaks all over TheStarkNet.
7.10.01 7.3.01 New intro page, new pictures, new links, new tweaks, new, new, new. 6.29.01 Well, it's been awhile, so there are quite a few changes. In addition to the usual subtle fixes, we have two new pages: Outtakes and Never-Intakes and The Men's Club Jukebox. Plus, a Men's Club Exclusive: Bill's Appearance on The Sports Junkies! Also: new desert island discs. 6.4.01 TheStarkNet is go. 6.3.01 Lots of fixes, everything moved over to a new server and consolidated. If you notice anything that doesn't work as it appears it should, please let me know. New links, too. 5.30.01 Took the plunge and got my own domain name. Look for TheStarkNet very soon. 5.27.01 Put up a faster version of Charlie's page of Futility and Shortcomings. 5.21.01 I just lost two of my school accounts, since the classes ended. Therefore, some stuff is gonna be down until I fix it sometime this week, especially CGI-related stuff (submitting forms). 5.14.01 New intro page displaying my highly advanced Flash skills. Fixed the search engine. More changes on the main page. 5.09.01 Design and layout changes, tweaking, fixing. Moved search to sidebar. Another interesting definition, incidentally (thanks, Steve):
5.07.01 Put up site #5 (although Men's Club blows the other four away by far) for a fictional online used music store for school. 5.06.01 This is a big one, all right: Fixed some glitches on the main page that I just noticed. 4.29.01 Added play-by-play commentary and a victory screen to the ping-pong game. 4.22.01 Added a counter that works properly in a framed page. Also, here are two interesting definitions I recently learned in class that have some relevance to The Men's Club:
4.17.01 I love figuring things out. Scrolling pictures on main page now start as soon as the page loads. Problem dealt with having two scripts on the same page, both trying to do different things when the page loaded. 4.15.01 Happy Easter, everybody. Minor touches on the sidebar. And if you were trying to put a mullet on yourself (in links) and were having trouble, that's fixed now too. 4.14.01 Now you can play the ping-pong game using your favorite Men's Club members! 4.11.01 Design overhaul of the site: changes everywhere, especially on the main page. That empty space underneath the banner: run your mouse over it, then move it away. I'm trying to figure it out so you don't have to do that. A handful of new pictures up. A bunch of new links, including a schwate ping-pong game. The Men's Club Anthem is now available in streaming format; therefore, it can be listened to immediately. Also, that damn digital movie I keep talking about streams now too, so it can be viewed much more quickly. Try being logged on to the site at 12:34. And if you really loved me, you'd take a minute to fill out this short questionnaire. 3.25.01 Well, whaddaya know, the ubiquitous Rondelet Smolens has posted his desert island disc. If he can do it, hell, why can't you? Get this taken care of on the double! 3.24.01 Added a new link to a special kind of mullet site. Adjustments to sidebar and original pictures page. Gave our sponsors some overdue recognition. Plus, THE MARDI GRAS PAGE IS UP. 3.20.01 Subtle redesign of the site, especially the navigation bar. Optimized all the graphics to allow them to load faster. Put up a website for a fictional sportswear store (for school), if you have any interest in that. Added a form reference to someone who was certainly Men's Club in my mind, if not technically. Oh yeah, and Mardi Gras... Expect the Mardi Gras page up this week. School's been busy, busy, busy, but I have the week off now. Muchas gracias to Charlie and Joanna for hooking up pictures. You guys rock themasses. 3.14.01 Added a search engine to the site. 3.10.01 Added frames to the site. The desert island disc page was screwed up, so I fixed that. The server seems to be having some trouble, so I apologize if there are problems loading the site. If you keep reloading the page, it will eventually come up properly. (Don't hit your browser's reload button; that will always take you back to the main page. Instead, right-click on this frame and select "refresh" or "reload".) Mardi Gras material on its way very soon. The Cuze may still surface, although the integrity of its original idea has been sorely compromised, because a picture I had taken of These Two Guys in New Orleans did not turn out. More on the Legend of The Two Guys later. 3.6.01 Added a goat check (turn speakers on), a message board, a scrolling banner, and a new "navigation system" (such as it is) on the main page. Made an external style sheet. Changed the directory structure. Uh, updated the What's New page. Did NOT post any Mardi Gras pictures, because almost none of mine turned out! I don't know what it is, but I'm not too slick with the camera. Either that, or there was some airport x-ray-related malfunction. Pictures, pictures, pictures, folks. Need 'em bad. 2.27.01 Fixed some glitches with the form and the desert island CD page (thanks Jones, thanks Charlie). Feedback, guys, that's what I'm talking about. Moved links that have no original material to the random links page, and added a couple of new ones. Also, we're back from what was personally one of the greatest, craziest, weirdest, most expensive, funnest trips of my life, Mardi Gras. Expect new photos when I get my pictures developed, as well as new sections including The Cuze. 2.20.01 Made the page look better in Netscape browsers, and converted everything to style sheets. 2.19.01 This may well be the most productive two days I'll ever have. Added a digital movie I made based on part of a Radiohead song in my computer graphics class. Cleaned some stuff up. 2.19.01 More updates in a day than I did in three weeks. Guess I'm on a roll. Added a program that determines which cartoon character you're most like, an adaptation of a quiz I found on-line. Also added a program that submits and posts your very own desert island CD, kind of a variation on a guestbook program. Schwate. There's probably more to come with this. 2.19.01 Geocities menus are gone! I got some more disk space, so that got rid of them. So, I added some more Dynamic HTML effects that they were preventing. Added more description to the pictures. And, of course, the ever-present Tweaks. 2.18.01 Added two versions of "The Men's Club Anthem". Make sure your speakers are on when you load the main page, too. Also, a good chunk of The Men's Club is going to Mardi Gras this Wednesday, so expect a bunch of new pictures afterwards from this guaranteed debacle. 2.13.01 Made some minor tweaks. 1.30.01 Added a couple new pictures to the main and form pages; tweaks. 1.29.01 Official Unveiling of the Men's Club Web Site. |
